A former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has affirmed that coalition leaders are committed to backing whoever emerges as the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the 2027 elections.
Speaking to journalists in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, Amaechi emphasized the importance of a transparent and credible primary process within the ADC. He assured supporters that once a candidate is officially chosen through a free, fair, and transparent primary, all coalition partners will unite behind that person to ensure a strong presidential bid.
“The moment anybody emerges from the primary, all of us will support; that’s the agreement,” Amaechi stated confidently. “We insist on a process that is open, honest, and devoid of any manipulation.”
Amaechi also seized the opportunity to rally Rivers State citizens to actively participate in the electoral process. He urged indigenes of Rivers to register with the ADC, emphasizing that their involvement is crucial in the fight to oust the current ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 polls.
“Every Rivers man who thinks well of our state and country should move to register with the new party and work towards removing the current government. We must end the hunger and hardship many are suffering from,” he declared passionately.
With these remarks, Amaechi not only signals a united front within the ADC but also underscores his commitment to electoral integrity and national development through strategic coalition-building and grassroots mobilization. As Nigeria gears up for the 2027 elections, all eyes will be on the ADC’s primary process and the potential emergence of a formidable candidate supported by a broad coalition.
