Less than three months after his appointment, Mr. Goodluck Iheamnacho has reportedly resigned as the Administrator of Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State. His resignation was said to have taken place on Friday, 20 June 2025.
The exact reason for the resignation remains unclear. However, sources allege that hours before his reported exit, a group of unidentified men stormed the council premises, assaulted Mr. Iheamnacho, and allegedly coerced him into signing the resignation letter.
Our correspondent observed a date error in the letter, as Mr. Iheamnacho stated his tenure as running from 11 April to 20 July 2025, instead of the correct date of 11 April to 20 June 2025.
The letter, addressed to the Sole Administrator of the state, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ette Ekwe Ibas (rtd), read: “Sequel to the above subject matter, I humbly write to your noble office to convey to you my resignation as the Administrator of Ahoada East LGA.
“My decision is informed by my desire to return back to the private sector.
“My sincere gratitude goes to the government of Rivers State and the good people of Ahoada East for finding me worthy to serve as Administrator of Ahoada East LGA from 11th day of April 2025 to 20th day of July 2025.”
