The Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, has reiterated that no money is required before a suspect is granted bail in a Police Station.
CP Adepoju disclosed at a stakeholders meeting in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area, ONELGA on Thursday, 8th May,2025, while fielding questions from a stakeholder on how much the specific amount required to bail a suspect in Police custody.
CP Adepoju revealed that bail is free, and nobody should pay money for bail.
The Rivers State Police Helmsman, in company with other security chiefs in the state,, urged the people to report any officer demanding bail money to the Police Authority in the State for prompt and appropriate action.
