The National Chairman of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN), Pharm. Ambrose Igwekanma Ezeh has declared his full support for the Geneith Health Competition—an innovative, youth-driven campaign targeting malaria prevention across Nigerian campuses. The endorsement came during a courtesy visit to Geneith Pharmaceuticals on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.
Also in attendance were Mr. Umenwa Emmanuel, Managing Director/CEO of Geneith Pharmaceuticals; Prince Cletus Ilobanafor, CEO of CEOAfrica; and key members of the Geneith team, including Pharm. Udeh Judith (Principal Manager, Marketing), Pharm. Okechukwu Simeon (AGM, Sales), and Pharm. Bimbo Bowoto (AGM, Sales & Marketing).
Pharm. Ezeh emphasized the urgency of a united approach to ending malaria in Nigeria: “The fight against malaria requires a collective effort. It calls for the synergy of government, private sector, and communities to develop innovative and impactful solutions.” He cited troubling data revealing that 95% of students visiting tertiary health centres are diagnosed with malaria.
Geneith CEO, Mr. Umenwa Emmanuel, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to youth engagement in the anti-malaria campaign. “We’re investing in this competition to strengthen the national response to malaria. Young people—especially students—are essential change agents in this battle,” he said.
Prince Cletus Ilobanafor praised the initiative as a powerful platform for youth leadership and innovation. “This competition empowers students to become malaria ambassadors. It’s about building awareness and promoting preventive action from within our communities,” he explained.
He described the project as the largest in Africa, urging patriotic Nigerians and corporate stakeholders to emulate Geneith’s vision and commitment. “This is more than a competition—it’s a movement for health and transformation,” he added.
Ilobanafor also expressed gratitude to Coatal Forte Softgel, a vital partner supporting the competition’s rollout.
