Abducted Catholic Priest, 2 Others Regains Freedom

The Rivers State Police Command says the abducted Catholic Priest, Maurice Livinus, and two others who were abducted by suspected kidnappers along Elele-Isiokpo road, Ikwerre LGA, on 12th February, have been freed by their abductors.

The spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe Koko, while giving an update on the matter, said on 16th February 2022, at about 06:30 hours, information was received that the kidnapped victims, Rev. Maurice Livinus and others, had been released by their captors after pressure from the combined efforts of the security team comprising policemen, soldiers from the JTF Isiokpo, and the local vigilante.

SP Koko stated that the victims have been reunited with their families for medical attention while efforts are ongoing to arrest the culprits.
