Abuja NSCDC Apprehends Six Infrastructure Vandals
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) arrested six suspected vandals of public infrastructure during the Yuletide at various locations across the Federal Capital Territory.
Parading the suspects on Tuesday at the NSCDC FCT Command headquarters, the Commandant, Dr. Olusola Odumosu, expressed satisfaction at his personnel’s dedication and commitment to consistently actualizing the Corps’ mandate.
He reiterated the Command’s resolve to flush out vandals and miscreants at all costs and warned vandals to desist from their wickedness against the FCT infrastructure or be ready to face the full wrath of the law.
“My officers and men have displayed gallantry and commitment to the enforcement of law and order in the FCT and its environs during the festive period.
“It is unfortunate that these nefarious elements are sabotaging the social amenities provided for the people of the FCT by the government.
“But we assure you that we shall not rest on our oars but continue to maintain our resolve to protect critical infrastructure while at the same time arresting these criminals,” Odumosu said.
The Commandant informed us that the arrested vandals are currently undergoing investigation and will consequently be prosecuted according to the provisions of the law.
He urged residents of the FCT to assist the Corps with relevant information to help fight Vandalism and other crimes in the FCT.
The Command’s operatives on routine patrol during the Yuletide celebration made the arrest to ensure the security of lives and protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure.
He revealed that one of the paraded vandals, Salihu Mohammed, a 27-year-old Male, was arrested at Life Camp, Kado, for vandalizing armored cables.
Mohammed Gadahfi, a 28-year-old Male, was arrested at Yar’Adua expressway, along the Airport road, for vandalizing Solar Panel Poles and FCMB Billboard poles.
Musa Ibrahim, 18 years old, was also arrested at Yar ‘Adua expressway along the Airport road in possession of vandalized El Rufai bus body parts.
He said the other suspects are Suleiman Yusuf, 21, Ibrahim Mudassir, 27, and Kabiru Sani, 22. He noted that the trio was apprehended with the different exhibits.
