APC to Akpoti-Uduaghan: Stop Spinning False Narratives

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Media Network has dismissed Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s claim that security agents plan to arrest her upon her return to the country, labeling it a “desperate attempt to avoid justice and gain sympathy through false information”.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Director-General of the group, Otuekong Iniobong John and made available to newsmen in Uyo on Sunday.
According to the group, Akpoti-Uduaghan was suspended from the Senate for breaching its Standing Orders, adding that In an attempt to avoid sanctions, she allegedly made false and malicious claims of sexual harassment against Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio.
“The All Progressives Congress Media Network is responding to Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan recent claim that security agents plan to arrest her when she returns to the country.
“The network views this allegation as a desperate attempt to avoid justice and gain sympathy through false information.”It is essential to recall that Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan breached the Senate’s Standing Orders, prompting her suspension.
“In a bid to avoid sanctions, she resorted to leveling false and malicious allegations of sexual harassment against the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio. Fortunately, the Senate did not succumb to her tactics.
“The group urged the public to disregard Akpoti-Uduaghan claims, stating that if she has indeed broken any laws, she will be subject to questioning by the relevant authorities.
They emphasised that the rule of law must be upheld and that no individual is above the law.
The APC group further called on Sen Akpoti-Uduaghan to provide concrete evidence to support her allegations of sexual harassment against the Senate President.
“The party believes it is crucial for her to back up her claims with facts rather than relying on baseless accusations and media campaigns”.
