NUJ to Rivers Police: Apologize or Face Total Media Blackout..

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Rivers State, has fired back at the state’s police command after officers brutalized journalists covering a protest in Port Harcourt.

Reporters from Channels TV, AIT, Naija FM, Super FM, and Nigeria Info were tear-gassed, manhandled, and one even arrested in what the NUJ slammed as a “barbaric, inhumane attack on press freedom.”

In a fiery statement, the NUJ issued a 14-day ultimatum demanding a public apology and disciplinary action against the officers involved—or the press will go dark on all police coverage in Rivers.

“If they fail to act, we’ll silence them where it hurts—in the media,” the union declared.
