Be Equipped, CP Task Newly Decorated ACPs Ahead of Task
Prince Woke, Port Harcourt
The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, on Wednesday, March 12th,2025, urged newly decorated Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) who were promoted from the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSPs) to develop themselves for the task ahead.
“I am so delighted to see them decorated. They have put in a lot.
“To whom much is given, much is expected. You are in a commanding rank now, no longer superintending. A lot of responsibility is given. You have to develop yourself for the task ahead. You have to make impact on others under you.
“Retrain yourself. With this rank, pray not to be found wanting. Hold on to God and be very committed. A lot of temptation comes with the rank. Be dedicated and steadfast and supervise the men under you properly.
“You are assigned a lot of assignments. If you want to succeed, you have to work hard.
“Make sure you go back and learn what you don’t know to perfect yourself. This is the time you show managerial skills. A lot of people are looking to you to deliver. How you deliver will show how you were trained,” CP Adepoju stated.
One of the newly promoted ACPs, Peter Ihechere, in his vote of thanks on behalf of others, said, “We thank God who made it possible for us to be here. If not for God, we would not be here.
“Hold God firm. For those of you expecting a promotion, a promotion will come.I thank the Inspector General of Police, IGP Egbetokun Kayode, for recommending us for the promotion. We also thank the Chairman of the Police Service Commission for the promotion. We equally thank the Commissioner of Police, Rivers State, CP Adepoju.”
ACP Ihechere stated that the promoters will not disappoint; they will keep the flag flying.
The officers decorated include ACP Peter Ihechere, Dennis E, O.K Smith, Umejuru Joy and others.
