On April 18, 2025, the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria warmly hosted the celebration of the 2025 “International Chinese Language Day” at the China Cultural Center in Nigeria. We were honored to have Liu Zhanping, Deputy Director of the China Cultural Center in Nigeria, in attendance, who graciously delivered a speech at the event.
In his remarks, Liu Zhanping emphasized that International Chinese Language Day is truly a festival that brings together Chinese language enthusiasts from around the globe. It serves the vital purpose of promoting the Chinese language and facilitating enriching cultural exchanges. In this age of globalization, the Chinese language stands as a significant bridge for the world to gain insights into China, and its international influence continues to expand. The Chinese side is deeply committed to fostering Chinese education and cultural exchange initiatives in Nigeria. We look forward to collaborating closely with our Nigerian partners to implement practical measures that encourage mutual learning between our civilizations, enhance people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and create a vibrant new chapter in the friendship between China and Nigeria.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from over 250 attendees, including Mrs. Larai Nana Ahmed, Director of the Education Support Services Department of the Federal Ministry of Education; Dr. Muhammed Sani Ladan, Director/Secretary of the FCT Secondary Education Board; as well as teachers and students from the China Corner School, representatives of Chinese-funded enterprises, and media reporters. We are grateful to all who participated and contributed to the success of this celebration.
