Customer Who Allegedly Beat Security To Death To Be Transferred Rivers SCID

The Public Relations Relations Officer of Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe Koko on Saturday morning, 29th March, 2025 disclosed that a customer who allegedly beat a security guard, Ifeanyi Ani, a father of three children to death at a popular eatery close to shell gate in Rumukrushi, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state will be transferred to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID,), PortHarcourt for detailed investigation.
SP Koko stated that the suspect, whose identity is currently concealed, was arrested on the day of the incident by the Mini-Okoro Police Division. The Commissioner of Police in the State, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, has ordered the transfer of the case to SCIID, Port Harcourt, for a comprehensive investigation. Our source disclosed that on Thursday, the customer who came to buy something at the eatery parked his car and left his head lamp on.
The source stated that an altercation occurred between the security guard and the customer concerning the head lamp that was left on, which resulted in the customer allegedly beating the security guard to death.
In an interview with our reporter, a human rights advocate said, a sister to the security guard, Chinaza Ani had earlier seeked assistance of his organisation, Centre for Basic Rights Protection And Accountability Campaign and its Partner, Lawyers Watch For Justice International Initiative (LAWJII) in quest for justice but later told them to hold on, that the family wants to have meeting with certain persons
