As the Easter celebrations approach, the Akwa Ibom State Police Command is gearing up to provide residents with comprehensive security.
In a proactive statement released by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, it was highlighted that preparations are underway to secure a peaceful environment for the festivities.
The statement emphasizes, “As Christians in Akwa Ibom State and globally prepare to commemorate the death and resurrection of our LORD Jesus Christ, the State Police Command, under the vigilant leadership of Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, fsi, is committed to ensuring the safety of lives and property before, during, and after the Easter celebrations.
To achieve this, the Command is mobilizing adequate human and material resources across all 31 Local Government Areas, anticipating that the Easter season will be marked by joy and security.
High visibility policing will be implemented, with strategic deployments of personnel at churches, event centers, motor parks, major highways, recreational grounds, and other key locations. Officers will conduct proactive foot and vehicular patrols throughout the state to maintain order and safety.
The statement further notes that, “All deployments are intelligence-driven, and officers will be reminded to act with civility and respect during their duties.
The CP extends his congratulations to all Christian faithful on completing the Lenten season, a time that exemplifies sacrifice, redemption, and hope. He encourages residents to celebrate responsibly, adhere to the law, and stay mindful of security considerations.
