Edo State Government Partners With World Health Organization to Enhance Healthcare Delivery

The Edo state government, in alignment with its commitments to fostering quality healthcare, pledged to partner with the World Health Organisation (WHO) and other relevant stakeholders in promoting policies and programmes geared toward providing better healthcare services to residents in the State.
The commitment was further reiterated by the Coordinator of the Office of the Edo State First Lady, Mrs. Edesili Okpebholo Anani, during a meeting with delegates from the WHO at the Government House in Benin City.
Mrs. Anani while reaffirmed the State Government’s dedication to driving quality healthcare services in the State.
“We will do everything within our power to support you in your campaigns. We believe in your vision for our community, and we are committed to helping you make it a reality. However, I must stress that in your events and campaigns, our women and children should also be included. Their perspectives and needs are crucial to building a thriving and equitable society.”
She stressed that the Governor Monday Okpebholo-led administration is passionate about the health of Edo residents, particularly women and children, and promised to collaborate with WHO in their health programmes and campaigns.
Dr. Eyo Nora, State Coordinator of WHO, emphasised the need for collaboration from the office of the Edo State First Lady as they carry out their health programmes and campaigns.
She added that Mrs. Anani’s presence during their campaigns will help foster trust among the mothers and also encourage the health workers to be more effective and efficient in their service delivery.
According to Dr. Eyo, “As mothers take their babies to the hospital to be immunized, we need to encourage the health workers to let them take their work seriously.”
She also highlighted the importance of taking their vaccination and immunization campaigns and sensitisation to the grassroots and how it could help reduce the risk of preventable diseases in the State.
