Edo IRS Extends 2026 Tax Returns Deadline

The Edo State Internal Revenue Service (EIRS) has announced an extension for the filing of Individual Annual Tax Returns (Tax Form A) and PAYE Tax Returns (Tax Form H3).

Originally due by the statutory deadline of March 31st, taxpayers now have until April 30, 2026, to complete their filings.

This extension applies to a broad spectrum of taxpayers, including: All Individuals, business owners and professionals, Freelancers, Content creators, entertainers, and artisans, consultants, tradesmen, and women, Employees and all employers of labor.

The Executive Chairman of the EIRS, John Osirenimhe Odior FCA, ACTI, noted that the decision to push the deadline back by one month was made to prioritize taxpayer support and administrative accuracy which aims at ensuring taxpayers have sufficient opportunity to gather documentation, encourage more citizens and businesses to meet their civic obligations, allow for more precise reporting of financial information and to provide a window for further taxpayer sensitization and education across the state.

The EIRS encouraged all eligible parties to utilize the available digital platforms to avoid last-minute rushes: Individual Taxpayers (Form A): Visit the official website at www.eirs.gov.ng to commence filing.

While employers of Labor (Form H3) can submit Tax Form H3 via paye.eirs.gov.ng or alternatively at the nearest nearest EIRS Branch Office.
