The newly appointed Executive Secretary of the Edo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (EDAPHCDA), Dr Coulson Oseikhai Oahimire, along with his Technical Adviser, Dr Gideon Iraoyah, paid courtesy visits to prominent healthcare centres in Benin City.

The visit was aimed at some facilities set to benefit from the Immunization Plus and Malaria Progress by Accelerating Coverage and Transforming Services (IMPACT) project, which the World Bank funds in partnership with the Edo state government.

The sole priority was the refurbishment and renovation of primary healthcare facilities, which would ensure the delivery of quality services and reduce maternal and child mortality rates.

During the tour, the executive secretary visited Iwogban PHC, Amufi PHC, and Oregbeni PHC. He stated that it wouldn’t be a one-time visit but part of the ongoing effort to monitor the improvement of PHCs and the functioning of facilities across the state.

Dr Oahimire urged Primary Healthcare workers to stay committed towards providing quality services to the community. He also assured the government’s commitment towards strengthening and upgrading primary healthcare centers.

“With the support of His Excellency, Governor Monday Okpebholo, we will ensure that quality healthcare services are delivered to the people of Edo state.”
