Gov Fubara Promises To Partner Church On Evangelism

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminialayi Fubara, has assured the Church of his continued support in spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Governor Fubara stated this at the Official Opening Ceremony of the First Edition of the Church of Nigeria 2025 Standing Committee Meeting held at St Cyprian’s Anglican Church in the Diocese of Niger Delta.
He said the partnership between the church and government is necessary to spread the gospel to all parts of the country and also to bring about a change of attitude.
Governor Fubara said: ” I want to commend what you are doing and to assure you that the Rivers State Government under my watch will support the Church of Nigeria.
“We are partners. Government cannot do everything alone. Government has to do it and succeed with the church. The church is the only place where even those who are not committed christians but go to church and when they continue to hear the word of God are compelled to change their ways and in changing their ways, they increase evangelism, spread the gospel and bring changes to our lives and environment; and I want to assure you that we will also support in expanding the work of evangelism by providing the necessary logistics for you”.
While appreciating the Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Most Rev’d Dr Henry Ndukuba for approving that Niger Delta Diocese in Rivers State should host the Meeting, he noted that the presence of the church fathers in the state is an indication that God is with his government.
He used the medium to inform the Primate, bishops, and delegates at the Meeting about some of his government’s investments in education, youth empowerment, and healthcare, amongst other areas.
“Having listened to the address by the Primate, most of the issues listed there are not different from what we as a government have keyed into. Issues of security of lives and properties, welfare of our citizens, healthcare; we also have issues of youths development which we have extended about Five Billion Naira on,” he added.
Governor Fubara, while wishing delegates a successful stay in the Garden City, noted that the country can be better if everybody works together to entrench an environment of peace that supports good governance.
