Idahosa Meets With NAWOJ, Assures of Govt. Support

Edo State Deputy Governor, Hon. Dennis Idahosa, on Thursday, February 6, addressed members of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Edo State Chapter, reassuring them of the government’s support.

Receiving the NAWOJ delegation led by Chairperson Adesuwa Ehimuan, who paid a courtesy visit to his office at the Edo State Government House, Idahosa stated that collaborating with the professional body based on its upcoming programmes would positively affect and benefit society.

He stated that Governor Monday Okpebholo’s administration is people-oriented, saying, “The core mandate of this government is fairness, equity, and justice.”

He praised members as professionals and veterans who bestrode the mass media world.

He observed that women journalists went about doing their professional duties accurately, disseminating information, even when practitioners had to sometimes make personal sacrifices for societal good.

He promised to give feedback to the group based on the areas of need raised to run its secretariat and collaborate with the government for upcoming events. He said he would reach out after discussing this with the governor.
