Justice Rahman Oshodi of an Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court has remanded one Peter Oshomah at the Correctional Center for allegedly defiling a 19-month old baby (names withheld).
Peter was arraigned by the state on a one count charge bordering on defilement.
The defendant however pleaded not guilty.
The prosecuting counsel, Inumidun Solarin prayed the court for a trial date following the not guilty plea of the defendant.
The defense counsel did not object.
Justice Rahman in his ruling remanded the defendant in custody custodial centre of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Kirikiri.
According to the charge, “Peter Oshomah Jezomi on or about February 5, 2024 at about 17.25 hours at No. 8, DB Street, Shagari Estate, Ipaja, Lagos did defile one (names withheld) aged 1 year and 7 months old by having unlawful sexual intercourse with her.”
