Metal Scrap Dealer Found Dead With Multiple Knife Stabs In Rivers Community

Mr Richard Nomanzi, a 43-year-old man who is a metal scrap dealer, was found dead with multiple knife stabs in his apartment in Ogbogoro community, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area on Wednesday12th February 2025; we gathered.
We learnt that his co-tenants in the compound perceived an unpleasant odour oozing from his apartment and informed the Police and his blood relatives. A source who pleaded anonymity disclosed that on entering the apartment, the neighbours saw his corpse.
In an interview with our reporter, a lady who simply identified herself as Gift, the mother of the deceased man’s child, said
“My name is Gift’ the mother of Favour. Favour is the child of Richard Chijioke.
“I received a call by 3:15 p.m. yesterday. I was at my business premises. The caller asked if I knew Richard Chijioke Nomanzi. I said yes. They asked me who he was to me. I told them I had a child for him.
“They said I should come to Ogbogoro. Behold when I got there, I just saw his corpse. At his door, the front side. When they turned him, what I saw was they stabbed him all over his face, his stomach with a cut over his neck.
“With the help of the Police, we took him to the mortuary. All I want right now is justice for him and his child”.
Our correspondent, who sighted the video of the deceased, reports that he had multiple knife stabs on his body.
The Rivers State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe Koko, has yet to respond to our reporter’s inquiry about the incident. Still, we learnt that the deceased man’s family had made a formal complaint at the Ozuoba Police Division.
