New NAPTIP Zonal Commander Resumes in Akwa Ibom

Ubong Ekwere has assumed office as the new Zonal Commander of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) in Akwa Ibom.
Ekwere took over from Mr. Emmanuel Awhen on Monday at the Uyo Zonal Command. Addressing the agency’s personnel, the Commander commended his predecessor, Mr. Awen, for strengthening the command.
He expressed gratitude to the agency’s management for entrusting him with the leadership of the zone.
“I am honored and humbled to take over as the Zonal Commander of the Uyo Zonal Command.
“I acknowledge the rich legacy and traditions of excellence built over the years in this command.”
Ekwere pledged to uphold the agency’s values, conquer human trafficking, and prevent violence against persons in Akwa Ibom State.
He promised to lead by example with integrity, transparency, fairness, and accountability.
The Commander assured that the command would collaborate with law enforcement agencies, organisations, the Akwa Ibom government, and other stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.
He urged personnel to work together as a team to deliver on the zone’s mandate through fight against trafficking in persons in order to eradicate it from the society
