One Person Reported Dead As Suspected Cultist Battle For Supremacy In Port Harcourt

One person has reportedly been shot dead at Gambia Street axis in Mile 2 Diobu, Port Harcourt, on Saturday evening,1st March 2025, following a supremacy and territorial control battle between two factions of suspected Deebam cult groups.

It was gathered that the suspected cultists, numbering over six, used a cutlass to cut their target on the neck twice before they shot him in the head, which resulted in his death.

An eyewitness who pleaded anonymity told our reporter that aside from the dead victim, he saw another suspected cultist in his pool of blood with knife cuts all over his body who ran to a chemist at Gambia Street axis on Saturday night to seek treatment.

We further gathered that the cult members of the man who was shot dead regrouped in a street at Mile 3 Diobu to launch a reprisal attack on the killers of their man but dispersed hurriedly on sighting the Octopus Strike Force unit of Nigeria Police that was on visibility patrol due to distress calls from residents.

This publication cannot authoritatively confirm the killing of the suspected cultist as the Public Relations Officer for the Rivers State Police, SP Grace Iringe Koko, was yet to respond to inquiry by our reporter on the incident, but several security sources had confirmed the renewed cult clash in Diobu axis of Port Harcourt.
