Police nab suspected cultist with human skull in Akwa Ibom

Operatives of Akwa Ibom Police command have arrested a suspected member of the Iceland Confraternity with a human skull.

The suspect simply identified as Pius Pius was said to be specialising in vandalising in public infrastructures within Abak LGA of the state.

A Statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John on Monday in Uyo, disclosed that the suspect was arrested on Sunday in Abak following a credible intelligence.

According to the statement other intems recovered from the suspect include: one transformer step down insulator, One circuit breaker, one electric meter and fuses

The statement reads, “On July 20, 2025, operatives of the Command have arrested a suspected cultist and vandal suspect who specializes in the vandalism of feeder transformers and public electric cables within Abak Local Government Area and its environs.

“At approximately 6:55PM, police operatives acting on actionable intelligence, proceeded to No. 80 School Road by Oku Abak in Abak LGA and apprehended one Pius Pius, a 40-year-old male.

“During interrogation, Mr. Pius confessed to being a member of the Iceland Confraternity, a group reportedly involved in the destruction of critical public infrastructure.

“A search of his room led to the recovery of the following items: A human skull, One transformer step down insulator, One circuit breaker, One electric meter, fuses

“Investigation into the matter is ongoing. Further developments will be communicated as they unfold,” it added.
