Port Harcourt Man Stabs Friend Over Missing Phone

A man simply identified as Michael is now in the net of the Rivers State Police Command for allegedly stabbing his friend, Uchemna, to death after alleging that the victim (Uchenna) Stole his (Michael’s) handset.
We gathered that the incident happened at Egede Street, Mile 2 Diobu Port Harcourt, Rivers State, last Wednesday, February 12th, 2025.
Sources within the neighbourhood disclosed to our reporter that Uchenna went to Michael’s house as both of them were friends. After some time, Michael could not find his mobile phone.
The source stated that Michael accused Uchenna of stealing his handset. An argument ensued, and in the process, Michael used a jack knife to allegedly stab Uchenna in the Stomach.
We gathered that Uchenna was rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead by Doctors on duty, while the Police later arrested Michael.
The Spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe Koko, confirmed the incident.
She said, “Yes, I can confirm the incident. The suspect has been arrested and transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Port Harcourt, for discreet investigation.”
