Rivers Police Command Honours Retired Senior Officers

The Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, on Thursday, 3rd April 2025, honored five senior Police Officers who bowed out after thirty-five years of service with gifts in recognition of their contributions while in service.

The Rivers Police Chief commended the officers for their commitment, dedication and steadfastness during their service years.

“The gift is a point of contact for many things to come. The gift is an honour to you. There is life after retirement. God have plans for you. Every good thing will locate you.” CP Adepoju said.

The Rivers Police Chief states that the Command will miss the service of the retired officers. He wished them well in their future endeavor.

One of the retired officers, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Benjamin Ugwuegbulam, said, “It’s a wonderful moment. We thank God for keeping us alive and healthy.”

Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Ireju Barusua, in her contribution, said, ” I am grateful to God for seeing Today”.

ACP Barusua (rtd) thanked the Commissioner of Police and other members of his management as well as officers and men of the Command for their love and affiction .ACP Barusua prayed God to strengthen the command.

ACP Abeoye Shittu(rtd), in his contribution, said, “The memory of the kind gesture by the command will linger for a very long time. What you have done for us will continue to be in our memory.”

CSP Grace Wonwu, in her speech, noted that the CP, officers and men of the command loved her.

CSP Shuaibu Achigili, in his contribution, said, “I would not have seen a day like this alive without the help of God”.

Our Correspondent reports that members of Regular Course 7, Cadet ASPs of Rivers origin who are on one-month internships in the state, presented a portrait to the Rivers CP in appreciation of his contribution to making their stay memorable.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Administration and Finance, Samuel Erale, Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Assistant Commissioners of Police, Divisional Police Officers, and tactical unit commanders were all in attendance.
