Rivers Residents Laments Hardship Over Vandalization of Community Transformer

Residents of Ogbuagu, Dim, Wokomalane, Ovim, Ojotolane, parts of Obaziolu, Wokoma, and Apostolic streets in Mile 3 Diobu, PortHarcourt, Rivers State, have lamented the untold hardship they are facing due to the absence of energy supply due to the suspected vandalization of the transformer serving the area.
One of the residents, Miss Peace Ernest, told our reporter that they do not sleep well at night due to the heat wave.
Another resident, Kelvin Nwachukwu, disclosed that the development is affecting small businesses like barbershops and hair stylists who spend a lot of money purchasing petrol to power their generators. Chindu ThankGod, residing in one of the streets, in a chat with our correspondent, revealed that the residents would take responsibility for replacing the stolen cables in the transformer as the distribution company claims it is the responsibility of the community to replace electrical materials when it is an act of vandalization.
