In an exclusive interview with press members, the Rivers Women Unite for Sim (RWUS) called for peace and sanity in the state through intensive prayers and thanksgiving.

The women expressed their concern over the presidential decision, which led to a series of unrest caused by Governor Fubara’s six-month suspension and other elected officials of the state.

Hon. Grace Osaronu from Eleme LGA informed me that RWUS is a group that has continuously prayed for the stars and interceded for the governor.

According to her, “The women of Rivers state are praying for the peace and calmness in the state.
“We trust in God and we are praying for God’s restoration of peace and security. “

Expressing disappointment over the recent turns of events, women and mothers of Rivers state from different backgrounds and religious beliefs collaborated to seek the face of God towards the state as the level of crime and violence has risen to an alarming rate.

Reacting to President Bola Tinibu’s broadcast, the women expressed their displeasure with the declaration of emergency in the state and the suspension of Gov. Fubara, who was claimed to have done a good job in office.

The religious body further pushed for the economic growth and suspension of the state where resources are harnessed and protected from illegal activities like vandalizing, pollution and oil spillage.
