S’ Court Judgement: Police Reacts To Threat By Militants To Destabilize Rivers State
By Prince Woke, Port Harcourt
The Rivers State Police Command has reacted to threats by militants under the umbrella of Niger Delta Rescue Movement to blow up oil installations in Rivers State following the judgement of Supreme Court which ordered Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN to seize monthly allocation to Rivers State until the Governor presents appropriation bill to the State Assembly led by Martins Amawhule.
Recall that a viral video surfaced online on Thursday, 6th March 2025, where some militants advised non-indigenes in the state to leave as their security can no longer be assured.
In reaction to the threat, the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, said the Police and other security agencies in the state can deal with all kinds of security threats from any group.
The Rivers State Police Chief warned that the Police will not tolerate threats by misguided elements to cause and create tension in the state while urging law-abiding citizens to go about their legitimate duties without fear of molestation.
