The Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, has declared that all South-East governors are united in their support for President Bola Tinubu’s potential second-term bid in 2027.
Umahi made the remark during a courtesy visit by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, who was in Enugu and Ebonyi states to inspect federal projects.
Describing President Tinubu as “God sent” to Nigeria and particularly to the South-East, Umahi said the region is now experiencing visible infrastructural development under the present administration.
He stressed that the president’s projects, including key roads and bridges, are impactful and evident across the region. According to him, South-East governors are aligned in support of Tinubu irrespective of political affiliations.
“We can’t get to the presidency by sentiments; we have to re-engage,” Umahi said, urging citizens to look beyond politics of emotion and recognize the gains of ongoing reforms.
The minister expressed confidence in Tinubu’s economic policies, pointing to a reported drop in inflation to 21.8%, foreign reserves rising above $40 billion, and commendations from global institutions such as the World Bank and WTO Director-General, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
