Tuggar Appoints New Special Assistant On Diplomacy And Foreign Relations
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, has appointed Ambassador Ahmed Sule as Special Assistant on Diplomacy and Foreign Relations.
Sule is a Political Science graduate from Bayero University, Kano, and a retired Career Diplomat with over 30 years of experience.
Before he retired from the Nigerian diplomatic service in 2024, he worked in various Directorates and Divisions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja. Ambassador Ahmed Sule also served at the Permanent Mission of Nigeria to the United Nations, New York, USA; the Embassy of Nigeria, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; and the High Commission of Nigeria, Ottawa, Canada. He was also Acting High Commissioner of Nigeria in London, United Kingdom.
Ambassador Sule was appointed Principal Envoy of Nigeria to the Republic of India with concurrent accreditation to Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal by President Mohammadu Buhari in 2021 and served meritoriously in that capacity between 2021 and December 2023.
While the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has congratulated the seasoned diplomat on his appointment, he is expected to bring his wealth of experience to bear in implementing the Honourable Minister’s foreign policy drive.
