Edo Assembly Partners NAPTIP And Correctional Service
-reaffirms 8th Assembly’s commitment to synergize

Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon (chief) Blessing Sheriff Agbebaku has reaffirmed the Zonal Commander NAPTIP Edo state Command and Controller of Corrections, Nigeria Correctional Service, Edo state of its 8th Assembly’s commitment to combine efforts with the agency towards the growth and progress of Edo state.
During the courtesy visit, Hon. Agbebaku expressed gratitude towards the leadership of the agencies for their unwavering efforts towards reducing human trafficking, especially in women and girls.
He further requested that the leadership of the visiting agencies make recommendations to the house on suggested areas of partnership to assist their job schedule.
While acknowledging the risks in their jobs, the speaker emphasized the rising rate of crime in society, which demands swift action to achieve a considerable reduction.
Earlier, Mr Aganran, Zonal commander of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP, mentioned that the Agency’s maintenance of a good and Mutual relationship with the government and the people of the state has also helped reduce the high level of trafficking in Edo state.
Adding, the controller of corrections, Nigeria Correctional Service, CC Sunday Oyakhire, also leveraged the need to empower inmates, help decongest their centers, and provide logistical support to the service to guarantee the smooth operations of their jobs.
