The Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCMMA) is partnering with the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Rivers State Council, to enhance information dissemination.
During a courtesy visit by NUJ members led by Chairman Comrd Paul Bazia, PHCMMA President Dr. Chinyere Nwoga highlighted the importance of this collaboration. As the first female President since PHCMMA’s founding in 1957, Nwoga emphasized her commitment to creating an enabling environment for business through integrity, accountability, and effective leadership.
Nwoga noted that PHCMMA ranks second after Lagos among Nigeria’s 72 chambers of commerce and is actively promoting collaboration with various embassies to facilitate business-related travel. She expressed confidence that partnering with NUJ will help improve public understanding of the Chamber’s role.
Comrd Bazia congratulated Nwoga on her historic appointment and shared NUJ’s focus on developmental issues, especially in tourism and agriculture, emphasizing the need for collaboration to achieve these goals. He offered NUJ’s goodwill and support for any upcoming programs, wishing Nwoga success in her new role.
