Nigeria’s Greatness Rests in its People — Uyi Urges Unity, Warns against Sponsoring Insecurity

The President of Global Peace Movement International, Dr Mike Uyi, has called on Nigerians to take collective responsibility for the country’s development, stressing that the nation’s progress depends on the active involvement of its citizens.

In a press statement, Dr Uyi said Nigeria belongs to all Nigerians, noting that those elected into public office are only caretakers entrusted with managing the nation’s affairs on behalf of the people.

He emphasized that citizens, both at home and in the diaspora, have the capacity to make meaningful impact wherever they find themselves, urging them to contribute positively to national growth.

The Global Peace Movement International President also warned against the fabrication and sponsorship of insecurity, describing it as a threat to national stability and unity. He said individuals or groups fueling unrest are undermining the country’s collective authority and hindering its development.

According to him, Nigerians remain highly respected across the world, citing recent international engagements, including President Bola Tinubu’s visit to the United Kingdom, as proof of the country’s global recognition.

Dr Uyi also referenced the achievement of the Senate President at the Inter-Parliamentary Union, where he now serves as an Executive Commissioner, noting that it reflects Nigeria’s growing influence in global affairs.

He maintained that Nigeria cannot attain the status of a superpower without the active input of its citizens, calling for unity and a shared commitment to nation-building.

Dr Uyi further warned that those sponsoring terror to destabilize the country would not succeed, expressing confidence that such efforts would ultimately fail.

He urged Nigerians to remain patriotic and committed to peace, unity, and progress, regardless of their location.
