During April 2025, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has successfully brought back bulk power supply through its 132kV Owerri-Ahoada Transmission line.
Ndidi Mbah, the General Manager of Public Affairs, explained that the reconnection was done after completing repairs on the destroy caused by vandalism, which had led to the collapse of four transmission towers.
Mbah noted that this restoration will allow the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHEDC) to provide electricity to Bayelsa State and parts of Rivers State, which have been facing power outages since March 11, 2025, when transmission towers 71 and 74 were vandalized.
The General Manager of TCN reaffirmed the company’s commitment to delivering reliable power across the country and influenced communities to help put an end to vandalism of essential transmission infrastructure and protect their resources.
